About once a week I check the pressure by using the readout on the dash/instrument cluster. My car also will warn me if a particular tire is low in pressure.

FROM A MECH.: Generally, every few months is fine. ASLO CK. THE SPARE -- they are almost always WAY under-inflated, &, therefore, useless when needed. RECOM.: keep a digital tire gauge in the 'glove box'; a 'quality' gauge'll cost approx. $20. - 'cheap' gauges are just that, & as useless as a 'flat spare'.
