In non-opinion based questions , if there is a factually incorrect answer I will DR it, especially if it has higher points than a factually accurate answer. Even more definitely if it is the Biology category!

No, but I have a troll that downrates every one of my answers. Recently, they got a second account and down rate me twice. Oh well, I guess it's nice to know that somebody cares.

No...only "newbies" and people seemingly filled with anger have a twitchy DR finger. I suspect some of them beat their kids and spouses when not taking it out on ABers. That being said...I'd rather they vent their anger here.

I NEVER donwrate anything.....I can disagree with an answer, in which I engage in debate......I can't disagree with a question. in my world, NO question is beyond asking!!!!!!!

I try to not downrate anyone. I did downrate a couple when I first started on AB, but none since. I have noticed that Obama supporters are very quick to downrate you if you even suggest he is not perfect.

I used to, but not anymore because I've noticed that it affects the % of my ratings given. Now, I'm high enough of a level that I can give points to have a "political" effect here.

No, it's not polite. I give positive ratings to answers I like and leave the others along. In fact, if I see someone getting DR'd for an answer solely on the basis of disagreement I'll give them a positive rating to help them even it out. Even if I disagree with the answer.

I've seen questions like this before. The only ones who will really answer are those who don't downrate at all. There may be one or two who do who will admit to it, but many people no longer DR ANYONE, even if they disagree with them. (I don't, no.) I've found that if I find something that REALLY deserves a downrate, it usually deserves a flag. I've also UPrated EVERYONE ELSE's answer on a question and not given the one I feel needs a DR any points (+ or -), effectively DRing them that way. ;-)

I hardly ever downrate. I do not downrate for disagreeing with a question that's a matter of opinion, possibly for a question that needs a factual answer is downright wrong. Very rarely I find a question or answer really offensive and then I might be motivated

Yes. Keep in mind that the things I disagree with are usually the kind exhibiting a good amount of bigotry and/or pure assholery.

AB is supposed to be about exchanging information and ideas. Downrating questions and/or answers just because you disagree with someone's opinion defeats the whole purpose of the site. I would never downrate someone for a difference of opinion (despite others doing so to me). I would rather simply agree to disagree. That being said, I have downrated questions/answers that I found abusive and/or offensive.

Never. I downrate if they are being specifically rude or spamming, or answer a question in a way to further their own agenda instead of answer the question

I don't, but a number of others do--especially those who do not share the same Christian beliefs that you do. They seem to be filled with hatred and animosity! And the simple reason is that the gospel of Jesus Christ greatly offends them as Jesus stated would happen.

Nope. But I do DR for the following: 1- Asking others to do your homework 2- Asking if you're pregnant after unprotected sex. 3- Asking what you can do to pass a piss test after you smoked weed the night before. Other than that, We're good to go!

Very rarely, only for grossly offensive, nonsensical questions. More times than not, I only flag as offensive. Never because I disagree. Even when the person I am disagreeing with is you as you do have a way of pushing buttons. :P
