Is there a way to find out if I owe the IRS any past due amounts?

Call IRS and ask them. You probably feel if you don't ask, then maybe IRS won't know if you owe something and you don't want them to look too closely. However if you owe, you may as well find out so that you don't get involved in penalties and interest. You might be surprised to find out you don't owe anything.
