  • We always used a stainless steel rod to sharply whack it in the back of the neck, just under the skull. It works instantly, and seems to be much less traumatic to the rabbit than slicing his head off. Of course, I'm going to get downrated for this answer, by people who may not understand that when you have 20 or 30 rabbits - letting one rabbit suffer with an illness like Rabbit Hemorraghic Disease will allow all of the rest of them to catch it. I'd take one to the vet to see what the illness is, before I went whacking away at them, if they are pets.
  • We did the same thing as Nitroduck. It's really quick and was recommended to use by other breeders and vets. But usually there was something we could do to save the rabbit. Unless the rabbit has cancer or something that is fatal, there are ways to help them, either through good research or a capable rabbit vet.
