I liked those aliens that could only talk to Chakotay through his "crazy gene" -- an extension of his Native American background, where the clinically insane were revered as shaman, but ironically Chakotay fears it and must accept the family curse to save the day. But the reptilian Earth-cousins were pretty amazing, too.
