Only you can determine the profession that will fit your skills, abilities, interests, and goals. No one can do it for you. Becoming a Medical Examiner is definitely a noble and ambitious calling.

That would be an awesome job to do. Never a dull moment, and you'd develope a cast iron stomach I'd imagine. Also you could probably write a series of books about it and make lots of money, like Patricia Cornwell.

Sure, it's an often overlooked and under-appreciated field of medicine. If you have the stomach for it and you think you can withstand the constant reminder of our mortality, then it could be a very rewarding profession. Have you ever watched Dr. G: Medical Examiner on Discovery Health? I think she is fascinating, talented, compassionate, and incredibly intelligent. She has an amazing way of explaining things and she often talks about the satisfaction that she gets from being able to give the families and loved ones of the deceased some answers, peace, and closure.

4 years undergrad, 4 years med school, 3-4 years residency.... now re-think do u want to be a medicial examiner?
