John Travolta. Obviously he's well past the historical Dean age, and hopefully he'll stick around for at least a couple dozen more years making other great flicks.

There really shouldn't be any modern day James Dean because nobody can be like James Dean but River Phoenix was misunderstood a lot like James Dean and Heath Ledger is another actor who was also misunderstood a lot like James Dean. Both River and Heath are gone but there is no actor alive today who is like James Dean. I think Zac Efron's character in the new movie 17 Again? or 16 Again? whatever that stupid movie is makes fun of James Dean when he pulls up to school in a race car with a number on it and he is wearing a leather jacket with shades like James Dean. Zac Efron is a moron and he can only wish he could be like James Dean and Vanessa Hudgens can only wish she could be like the very naturally gorgeous Pier Angeli. Pier Angeli was and always will be the love of James Dean's life and she was naturally gorgeous. Vanessa Hudgens wishes she was Pier Angeli that stupid hoochie. I have a photograph of Pier Angeli without any face makeup because you can see her beautiful freckles on her check bone. Vanessa Hudgens looks pretty not beautiful without makeup. I saw her photograph in People's 50 or 100 Most Beautiful People where Vanessa has no makeup on and she looks ok and was probably only picked because some woman made the list and wanted to pick women who are not intimidating without makeup. Vanessa Hudgens is not ever going to be as beautiful as Pier Angeli unless a makeup artist is doing her makeup. James Dean is the best young male actor ever and everyone after him is just a copycat. Dennis Hopper said in interviews that he felt it was necessary to keep James Dean's spirit alive and so he tried to copy James Dean's acting. He said he wanted to be like James Dean because James Dean was cool.

I don't think there is anyone like James Dean right now. The last people that I can think of, who had both the talent and the problems James Dean had, were River Phoenix and Heath Ledger. Right now, it's the female celebrities who are going down the path of self-destruction, people like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, who once had talent, but their destructive personalities have taken over them.
