  • yes, leaving there body to decompose to the elements. It's done in parts of Africa.
  • i know one that i've heard of for sailors is dumping the body over the side with weight after a small ceremony. i dont think this is a common one in this age, but i believe this is how it used to be done in older years of wooden cross ocean ships. sort of a "man of the sea so he should be part of the sea" type thing
  • There are places in remote parts of India where they put their dead on beds on the flat roofs of the house and let the vultures do the rest.
  • The cryogenic preservation that a few well-off people seek might become more common. It isn't very usual at present.
