No, no, no. My mother, who I'm sure must have loved me, tortured me with SPAM sandwiches, Deviled ham sandwiches and even this white sweet spread with pineapple chucnks that came in a little jar. I don't even know what that was.

If I prepare it, I can't eat it. I can stand the way it is when it comes out of the can. But if someone else fries is to a very crispy golden brown, then, depending on how hungry I am, it can taste pretty good.

ah spam..the "other" meat..i love it yes. ive been eating it for 40 years. be it spam kabobs..spam sandwich or even musubi>a tiny hawaiian sandwich consisting of spam, rice, seaweed and tamago-(egg with mirin) oh man! spam doesnt require refrigeration, you can use it as survival food, or after a disaster

Only when fried (well, I guess kinda sauteed) on the stovetop so it gets a nice brown "crust" on the edges.

- That's how I like it when fried also. My wife prefers it fried but not to the point where it has that light 'crust', but I have to have it to that point. Not burned, but with the 'crust'.

I have never even had Spam. How is that possible? I did see an episode on the Food Network about it and it looked O.K. Hawaiians love it, if the show is to be believed.

- It's true about Hawaiians loving it. As I put in another comment here, it's almost a national food in Hawaii, you can find it even in fine restaurants. How can it be you've never tried it? We must find a way to get you some, lol

- I don't know. Maybe it's because where I live it's not popular. I even bought some for Hurricane Rita, but, I ended up not needing it and my dad ate it. In general, I don't eat "hurricane" food unless there is one and all my food has spoiled and the stores aren't open for a long time. That happend for Rita but I never got around to the SPAM.

Fried, straight from the can on a sandwich, haven't heard of it with eggs before, but why not? I don't understand why people hate it so much...

Love it.

Fried up, with eggs, in fried rice...

Best of all, fried up, served with fried pinapple rings and white rice. Yum yum.

- Oh yeah, Jen, I'd forgotten about SPAM in fried rice. My wife makes the best fried rice I've ever had, and she tried it with SPAM one day, and we've had it that way ever since. If you like SPAM, try it in fried rice! (with peas, also)

Yes indeed, fried SPAM is the way to go! Sandwiches, in scrambled eggs, in fried potatoes.. it's all good :) And I'm proud to admit it, lol

- went camping a few weeks ago and a camper took spam, cut it into 2'' cubes and roasted it in the open camp fire for a minute or so, i was very surprised at the taste

I don't understand why SPAM has such a bad rap.

Fry yourself an egg over medium,(make sure the yoke is bursting all over the sandwich) thin slice of spam and some cheese.

Man thats HeAven!!!

Ha! I remember my Mom used to make Spam & cheese sandwiches up at our cabin. (Canned meat was easier to keep around and prepare.) I remember them being good, but not tops on my list of things to retry as an adult!

Hawaii consumes the most Spam of all 50 states. I must have my Spam fix at least once a month. I have also converted my wife to eat Spam. Spam and Eggs, Spam soup, Spam musubi, terriyaki Spam, Hamburger Sandwich with a slice of Spam and egg. Mmmmm Spaaaaam....
