  • It really depends on whether you're white or black. Well actually more about the texture of your hair. If you have tight curly hair it's alot easier to get it to dread. Straight hair doesn't like to dread. But if you want to dread it you'll have to section all your hair with rubber bands. If you want thinner dreads than make alot of sections. If you want big thick dreads than use more hair in each section and make less sections. After you've sectioned your hair you'll need to take a strong metal comb and backcomb your hair. That means start at the end of each section of hair and comb it down towards the root until it begins to bunch up at the root. You'll have to do this almost everyday for a while if you really want your hair to dread. Then get some dread wax or pomade, or anything with strong hold, and wax each dread with it to make sure they stay together. Basically that's all you have to do, but it's a really long and labor intensive process. The initial sectioning and backcombing will take at least 2-3 hours. Once your hair has started to dread up well make sure that you find a very gentle cleanser and then every couple weeks work a small amount into your scalp and then run water over the scalp to wash it out. Don't use too much though or your hair will un-dread(is that a word? haha)Remember that dreading your hair does not mean that your not still supposed to wash it and take care of your scalp. Not washing it won't give you dreads it will just give you dandruff and dirty matted hair. Also, make sure that you twist your dreads at the root often and continue backcombing to keep the hair locked at the root. I had dreads for 2 years and although I really loved them, it's a pretty tedious hairstyle. Don't try it unless your truly ready for the work that goes into it in order to have nice looking dreads. During the time I had dreads my hair never smelled bad or looked greasy and unclean, and I got so many compliments from people who thought that dreadlocks were just a dirty unclean hairstyle. They're much more than that. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
  • You are so concerned of your fellow addicts and their will to speak under the influence, I think you should provide regulations, specifically the guidance of dreading your hair.
