  • Yes to both
  • I rate on wether the answer/question is helpful or interesting . A person does not need to have the same opinion as me for me to uprate them. That is IMO what this is all about the exchange of ideas and hopefully lessening of friction because of our obtaining new knowledge about things on which we have had rather set ideas previously,
  • I rate a question up if it is something I would have asked if I had thought of it. I also rate them up if they make me use my brain and I actually come up with something good! In case you were wondering, I rated this one up.
  • if it's totally smart ass and wasn't necessary [i see that as unhelpful] then i might DR it if i ask the q. usually i just leave it alone unless i personally feel provoked to say something
  • I rate them both positively on whether or not I think they're helpful or whether I agree or disagree with them. If I like the question and or agree I'll give max points. If I don't like the question I'll only give one or two positive points as opposed to max points.
  • I think an answer can only be helpful if people refrain from talking out of their a**es. If I seriously don't agree with something, but the answer represents a thought-provoked view, I'll give positive points. If I disagree with them, but its because of the ignorance of the author, I give negative points.
