if the teacher felt dumb they chose to feel that way. about twice a year I would point out a mistake the math teacher was making in class. the math teachers I had cared about teaching, not stroking their egos, so they were glad the human error was pointed out so the class did not learn incorrectly. I was smarter in math than all the other kids in the class, but everyone makes human errors just because I caught it does not make me smarter than the teacher. however there were a half dozen of us in my computer programming class who were smarter at computer programming than the teacher... ironicaly we were the ones failing his class (I also failed that teachers physics class getting all the answers right. like the kid in "the day after tomorow") I did change my biology teachers behavior. after every test he would get on his soap box preaching that from the test scores he could tell who studied and who did not. having the top score half the time and always being in the top 5, I finally got sick of his sermon and asked if I studied... I did not. he stopped that speach atleast durring my classes

There was a guy in my Human Development class in college that could talk circles around the teacher, who would stand there with his hand over his mouth and saying "interesting" or "I can see that".... I think he probably did feel dumb, but he took it well.
