If there is no life on mars, should we start putting life there? Any moon or planet for that matter?

What kind of life??? I dont think humans could sustain on Mars. It would take too long to travel to any other life promoting planets outside of our solar system to be feasible for human life.

I would like to know how they measure life? If we take a quick look then we may not notice that trees are alive. They don't move around very much and if we couldn't remember things then we might not notice how they grow. So from a photo we might presume that trees are just formations of chemicals. Seti spends millions each year searching for signals or code sequences from other life forms in the Universe by watching radio frequencies. I would suggest that any advanced life form would by now have learnt to encrypt any radio waves they give off to hide the fact that they exist. We send out and broadcast all our news of wars and how we kill each other daily. Advanced life forms would learn to avoid life forms like ours.
