i think ants might be the smallest animals in the world...if not, can you please let me know, i would be very fascinating to know what animal is smaller than the ant.

ok i found the smallest "mammal" in the world. its the bumblebee bat.

I think that it is the Water Bear. Water Bears are super small. They can only be seen with a microscope and they can survive in space, in a SUPER hot oven, in freezing weather, etc. They are REALLY small. I learned that on the show: Animal Planet. It looks gross. :D Very small. :D Super small. :D :D :D

I don't know what the smallest animal is - nobody does - but I do know that it will be a single-celled animal. The smallest single-celled animals are about one thousandth of a millimetre across. (about one 25,000th of an inch)

If you are talking about the smallest vertebrates it is the stout infantfish. The biggest one ever found was 8.4mm!!! The only animals smaller are needed to be seen with a microscope. e.g bacteria, viruses e.t.c
