Actually the tone of the accompanying newspaper article reads like an extended pun, so I'm not sure that the entire thing isn't an elaborate joke, but I'll give you marks for trying.

Actually, snopes is a good reference on this one. They are a site strictly for giving the yes or no on urban legends. If they say it is true, then I believe it.

Oh, they are messing with us. Click on the "More information about this page" link at the bottom and it tells you it's all BS. I didn't realize snopes did that, but good to know.
