Does anyone think that in Sense and Sensibility, Colonel Brandon and Elinor should've gotten married instead of Brandon and Marianne? B and E enjoyed each other's company and their personalities were more compatible.

I always thought that too. ( I like the version with Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet). But there seemed to be no chemistry between B and E. Of course, there was no chemistry between B and M either but M developed a fondness that I think over time could turn into something. Keep in mind that most marriages were arranged at that time the notion of "being in love" was really a luxury most women could ill afford.
