It's good. You should have received a better grade in my opinion.

I think it is hubris for an educator to "grade" a students creative efforts. It is proper to offer critique about a piece of work, but to give the work a "grade" is about as helpful as tits on a bull. Your drawing is good. As a whole, it lacks depth - but I do not know if you were attempting realism, or a good study of a person, or if you had an idea to put the object (person) in context of place. As a whole, you have skill in scale, as well as realistic representation. What is lacking is depth, a sense of movement, and tension. There is SOME tension in the piece, but not enough to evoke 'life', or a connection with the viewer. The work is solid though. Keep progressing....

its good ... its a little rough and could use a little more work on the clothing but its certainly not crap, i infact think it is rather good, i grade it an -A

a c is average. so c is not for crap. for art class, i would say it is average. it could use more detail. the teacher expects more from you. to give you a higher grade might mean you might think you could do minimum work and pass the class. i think you could do better. more detail. more background information. the lower portion is empty.

Depends upon where you drew it... If it's a high school class, then I think you should have gotten a better grade. If it was in college, in anything but a beginning class it needs more work.
