  • Do yourself a favour and get a router. Since you have a PC, you are probably using a switch to enable you to have both machines on-line. It is always better to let the machine (PS3) handle internet connections and to do this properly you need to have DNS lookup enabled. This is almost impossible to do through a switch. Switches suck because of their inability to handle packet collisions. Routers rule due to their ability to handle collisions and off-load the firewall from your computer. Hope this helps.

  • If you can browse to http://216.92.56.121/ but not to http://duxcw.com/ your DNS (Domain Name Service) server IP address configuration is not correct or your service provider DNS servers are not resolving the domain name duxcw.com into it’s IP address, 216.92.56.121. You can also go to command prompt and send a ping and computer will respond, your wiring can be bad or your nic can be bad. 0 gavity
