Probably the same reasons it would make a guy happy and stress free? When is it ever a bad, unhappy thing to go out and buy something you want?

We love to spend, spend, spend!! its very therapeutic drasifbly and sooo much fun carrying all those bags indoors and unpacking and seeing what you got!! :D

One of the explanation is given by evolutionary psychology, according to that as part of the evolution men specialized in hunting while women in gathering nuts and fruits. When we developed culturally, collecting nuts and fruits turns into shopping in a shopping mall, since women's brain is wired for this particular job, they naturally interested in them. So when we do what we like we feel relaxed.

Because it is something we enjoy. We forget our troubles, looking at diffrent thing's, talking to a friend who may be with us. We even play around too.. Whoohoo! :P All in fun

the happiness is brings about is only fleeting...Some woman shop excessively to compensate for problems or negative emotions. In the end, some may feel depressed, because the high wears off and they realized that they just blew money on things they didn't really want or need

I have no idea. I'm a girl, and I absolutley HATE shopping. I'm so stressed and frusterated when I shop, so now I rarely have any good clothes because I avoid shopping so much. I seriously don't see why so many people like it.

Not me, I hate shopping. That gives me stress. Going to the stores hearing kids screaming and crying. Not fun

In my case my gf feels that she loses stress everytime that I take her to the mall to shopp and next thing you know..she will start searching for all the discounts and she wiil be on a good mood cause the money Is coming out of my pocket..LOL

I dislike shopping and avoid it at all costs. My husband does the shopping, even buying my underwear and my shoes.
