A heart attack. How's your left arm? If your left arm feels funny, start coughing REALLY HARD EVERY TWO SECONDS. REALLY REALLY HARD. DIAL 911, OR GET YOURSELF TO A DOCTOR NOW. GET YOURSELF TO A DOCTOR AND DON'T STOP COUGHING.

You can have a pain in your jaw for about an hour before the heart attack really sets in.

Your arm isn't heavy or aching, too, is it? I know you're young, and not to worry you TOO much, but pain in the jaw (with others) is a symptom of heart attack. Don't laugh too hard... younger and younger people are having heart problems these days.

Check http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3053#Heart_Attack , and take an aspirin, at least, just to be safe.

Otherwise, clenching teeth, chewing too hard gum, eating hard/hard chewy candy, a bump, or other things (at times I can "crack my jaw knuckle" - at least that's what it sounds/feels like, and it can hurt if "half-cracked" - can cause it. Could also be a wisdom tooth.

If you have that and ANY of the other symptoms of heart attack, no matter how old you are, it might be safer to call the ER.

Chewing gum for long periods of time will sometimes do that, or maybe you did something to it in your sleep...

Maybe your spouse, if you are married, elbowed you in your sleep last night.

Have you got into a fist fight recently? Have you been found passed out drunk on the sidewalk lately? Did you pinch somebody's butt?
