Duct tape works for patching repairs.

My personal favorite is the Navy's version of duct tape, known as "EB Red". This is a strong, red tape that you can pretty much tape oil to water with, if you really had to. It puts duct tape to shame. If you can't tape it up with EB Red, it can't be taped.
