Our son called to say due to high winds a tree fell on our country property. Has a tree ever fallen on your house or car? (our house was spared). A large limb fell on my mom's car years ago causing a huge dent.

Lightning struck a huge oak tree in our yard once. A huge limb was dangling right over our liquid propane tank ... very dangerous. We had to have someone come out immediately to remove that limb! I'm glad the tree that fell on our property did not damage your house!

I was at my exes' house during Hurricane Isabel. Ok, it was just a tropical storm to level 1 by the time it hit Maryland but this California boy was cowering in the basement as a train ran overtop the house (well that is what it sounded like to me). I heard a huge and up close CCCCCCCCCCCRACKKK!! and curled up on the couch even tighter. Of course you could hear the trees snapping and falling a ways off but this was right up close. In the morning we learned that one of the big trees outside the house had split in half and came within feet of taking out part of the house. My ex and her family just waved their hands and said "that ain't nothin'." But then they had been sitting upstairs during the hurricane chatting as I hid in the basement.
