  • You must ovulate really early on in your cycle. If your period lasts for approximately 5-7 days, and you have unprotected sex during this time, you can become pregnant. Sperm can also travel up and wait for the egg for up to 7 days before you actually ovulate. For example if you had sex on day 2 of your period and you ovulate on day 9, then there could be sperm still alive which cause you to become pregnant if that makes sense.
  • The "average" cycle has ovulation somewhere in the middle between periods. Your cycle is obviously not "average", as you are ovulating right after your period. There's nothing wrong with you - your body just runs on its own schedule. At least you figured it out :)
