I would think it would be odd that first he went there and since he WAS there, why not get the happy ending. I know how much he likes them.
If he was straight about it and flat out asked me if he could go, I would probably tell him that was crossing a line that he may want to think about crossing before he did it.
A waste of money and a perfectly good relationship, imho.
