Stamps can get expensive, it depends on how many people showed up for the event
-
personally I prefer a hand writen note
-
As long as you say thank you, I don't think how they receive it should be important.
-
well i dont need ethier they said thanku when i left and its not a big deal

I might not be Miss Manners, but aren't they supposed to send the thank you? Either way, it should be through regular mail.

We are in a electronic age. Yes it is nice to get a thank you card. But as long as the person takes time to thank you , be it by computer, phone, or email, that's what really matters. I think it is rude if you go to an event an give a gift and don't get a responce. Makes you wonder if they even knew you were there!

I'd say the regular mail. I never check my emails.

Either way and/or a phone call.

Wait, so I go to their party or whatever and they thank me? Should I not thank them? A verbal thanks'll do me, anyway :)

If you are the one being celebrated, then thank you in person, and by email and then maybe a lovely Thank You card to follow. If you are a guest, I think a thank you in person at the event should suffice. :)
