You may need an adapter or power cord to charge it since the US and UK have different outlets.

The handheld itself will work just fine. Like the other guy said, you may need to buy a different adapter. You may not be able to play any games you buy in the UK on it, though, depending on whether or not Nintendo uses region encoding on their games.
