  • They sell laptop cooling devices that are powered via USB. They cost between $15 and $50 and do a decent job.
  • While the laptop cooling "trays" are decent, I feel the need to point out something that may seem obvious but many people overlook. Too many people rest their laptop on a soft surface (sofa, bed, lap...) and wind up blocking the cooling vents and/or fans. At that point, ANY flat, rigid surface underneath the laptop will help whether it has fans or not.
  • I use three options: (1) cooler fan tray - almost always (2) a stand fan is on and is directed towards to my laptop - almost always (3) have my air conditioner on - only occasionally because of higher cost with this option
  • Get an under the laptop cooling pad - check C net and PC world for help on this.
