No I didn't panic. I was curious as to what if anything was going to happen. I made no plans whatsoever other than the normal new years eve plans of partying with friends and family. I was actually disappointed when nothing happened.

No, I didn't panic. I didn't make preparations. I was actually on a Y2K software development team doing remediation for the date problem. I stayed home from the New Year's celebrations, though. I knew it was possible that a system could have a glitch, and that the masses would likely panic if the lights went out for 5 minutes. I didn't need that. I had a small celebration at my home.

No I didn't panic. I didn't think anything was going to happen except for people acting a little crazy so I just stayed in the house. That's pretty much the only precaution I took.

No I didn't panic and no I didn't make any prepartions. I was asleep at midnight and woke up at like 1 am looked at the clock and said "morons" and went back to sleep.

I didn't panic. At the office we were told to prepare ourselves. We only missed an old computer that "lost it's mind" and a Front Wheel Alignment Machine that couldn't recognize 00 as year 2000 when entering a car model of that year. I knew that the whole planet was getting prepared, so I had no need to worry too much.

No panic, although I worked for an investment firm at the time, and we had extra people working on Jan 1st to make sure that if we got a rash of calls from customers, we could assure them that their accounts were still there. :)

I did panic a little bit. I figured that the infrastructure was sound and had enough redundancy, retro-fitting, re-coding, redundancy, resiliences, and redundancy that the things people were worrying about would be fine. However, I have little faith in the stability of my fellow humans, so I figured that THEY would go on the fritz and do vastly more damage than the Y2K bug itself. That said, I didn't prepare. I felt no need.

Got us 7 days of water and no-cook food, a brick (500 rds.) of .22LR ammo (her rifle), and a brick (100 rds.) of 12 gauge ammo (my shotgun).

I was only 5, going on 6 in 2000. I only learnt about Y2K a few years ago. I'm pretty lucky I didn't know or I might have got a little hyped up.

I had just opened my law firm. We had a lot of files on the computers. So we backed everything up on disks. I did the same on my personal computers also.

At work, I went in on 12/31/99 to shut down & power off every computer I had access to. The next day, I want back in and started them all back up. I also changed the background sound on our home page from "5,4,3,2...(pacman dies sound)" to a clip from "Looks like We Made It".
