2003 VW New Beetle - Problem, oil light comes on at stopping, goes off on acceleration. Oil level good, oil changes regularly, use synthetic oil. What could be going wrong?

Sender could be bad. Or the real good problem is that your main bearings are worn and will not hold pressure.
