  • Probably, I have heard a lot of people do, as long as you are used to it and it does not impair your judgement
  • Depends on how you respond to diazepam. It's a LOW dose. Give it 40-50 minutes to hit it's peak in your bloodstream. I would take 2 frankly, UNLESS you are taking an antihistamine or any other CNS depressant medication or over the counter drug. In that case, best to just take 2mg or you could get sleepy or even light headed. I assume you have taken diazepam before and know it agrees with you? Just use your best judgment. 2mg is not much for MOST people however. They give people 10mg shots before certain out patient and other surgical procedures, so 2MG is really quite a low dose if you have very high anxiety. The maximum recommended dosage is 10MG in an hour, or if you are prescribed the drug by a doctor 30-40MG maximum therapeutic dose a day total for anxiety, severe muscle spasms, etc.
  • NO! It is a benzodiazepine, so it does help in short term relief of anxiety, and is perfect for flights etc, passive activities. However, it can cause drowsiness, and there should be warnings in the preparation about taking this before skilled tasks, including driving. Especially if you have not taken it before, I would not take it, as other adverse effects can include lightheadedness and paradoxically an increase in aggression in some people. I would stay away from pharmacological agents if possible, and try something like chewing gum, e.g. with menthol/eucalyptus in, such as Airwaves, or other ones designed to help with colds, as these have a calming effect on most people, and the chewing activity can be therapeutic. Good luck!
  • yeah definately not worth the risk if you've never taken it before. Nothing quite flunks a driving test like falling asleep at the wheel.
  • It may keep you calm. But............... It also could get you arrested for driving under the influence. buzzed driving is drunk driving. Hate to know i was arrested for a dui on a drivers license test. I would never receive a drivers license!!
  • no it can cause drowsiness and make you respond slowly
  • Why don't you just have a drink instead?
  • i took some for my driving test and i passed.
  • my doctor has just given me diazepam to calm my nerves before having a tooth out at the dentist, he said not to drive after taking one. Good Luck
