  • people its only toward 1 race. Its not fair to other races including white people.
  • Who are these people and where can they be found? Lol, joking.
  • Do people have a problem with Black History month? I have never heard anyone say anything bad about it. Black history month is great, and Asian history month is great. IMO, they are all great, anything that gets anyone to learn something about their history is okay in my book.
  • I have not met too many of these people that have a problem with Black History Month Maybe those that do have a problem with any history at all.
  • In this century people should be mature enough to celebrate the beauty and diversity of all peoples, all cultures and all histories. There is just too much to learn from each other.
  • i didnt know people had a problem with black history month...until i went to the page you posted but it doesnt sound to me that they have a problem with black history, they are really just saying that they should be thankful that they have atleast a month when white people dont have a month....now it sounds like they are mad or jelous. anyway..black history is very important, not just to black people but for everyone in the united states and who ever says otherwise is very ignorant because thanks to a black man we now have freedom and many more. be proud of your month no matter how many days it has...
  • January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. I have a little trouble with nasty winter months, and August is always too humid, otherwise, 12 months a year suit me just fine!
  • The only problem I have with Black History Month, is that there are more people who have made a contribution to it than just George Washington Carver, and Madame C.J. Walker. It does take more than 28 days to mention all of the people, and everybody needs to know that blacks have done more than just picking tobacco and cleaning houses, and can do more than sitting on the corner, selling drugs, and making guest appearances on "COPS." (I am black by the way!!)
  • I am not aware of anyone having a problem with Black History Month, or any other ethnic group's heritage month. Well.... that is except for one. What about a White History or Heritage month ? You see if White People were to have one, we would be called racist and be accused of trying to place ourselves above everyone else,of discriminating.Isn't that reverse discrimination? And by allowing some ethnic groups to celebrate their heritage and not others isn't that being racist. Now that...... I have a problem with !
  • Well I am not speaking for myself and not saying that I have a problem with any month, but you hear so much about Black History Month that everyone in America knows when it is but how many people even know about the other months?
  • I was unaware that there was a Hispanic Heritage month or an Asian Pacific American Heritage month. But in any case I'd like to answer your question. Personally, have I got an issue with celebrating the African American Culture and the sucsess of African Americans in history? Absolutley not. Infact I enjoy any type of history at all and I'm happy that the races are continuing to improve on the path to unity. I do not agree with how the people of the past treated each other and I greatly admire Martin Luther King. The only problem I have with Black History Month is the total harrassment I have to go through whilst attending a Public School (in the city of pittsburgh). When Black History month comes, some of the African American children are asking "When are we gonna talk about black people?", and then when we finally do I have to sit in class and hear snide remarks about how my "Cracker b**ch ancestors were S***" (that was a direct quote) and how all white people are racists. Now, do NOT get me wrong. This is not all the African American Children in the school/class/world. But there are a few who for some reason go out of their was to insult us as if it will change their anscestors pasts. Quite honestly, I'm ashamed of how my ancestors treated people, but it was not I who did the treating, nor was it my class mates who were treated in such a way. It is understandable to be upset and feel bad for your ancestors if they underwent such treatment, but it is not nessecary to make derogitory and cruel remarks to children who are Caucasian. I have several African American friends with whom I am very close with, and they find no need to insult me about it, so I don't understand why some feel the need to insult others as they do.
  • The other two are not as known, I'm glad they exist, there should be a month for each heritage, might be more pc to use the term European American when the time comes for Caucasians to have one too.
  • Because they are ignorant and probably have some level of racist beliefs. Some people see only skin color; black and white, not African American and Caucasian. Maybe if Black History month was called "African American History Month" then people would see the true meaning for the observance.

  • I think people who get tired of Black history month get tired of having to hear about the past because they, themselves, can't complain. In my area, it's mainly whites who complain and they usually have no idea about Native American/Hispanic/Asian heritiage Month so, generally they have no problem with it. People fail to realize why these months are there, what good they do, and how they haven't quite reached their goal yet. In my opinion, if there are still race-based hate groups or people ignorant of a whole races history, these months haven't done their jobs. Teachers don't focus on the months enough and it's always the same cookie-cutter information that doesn't generally ignite much interest. The months, to me, are here to help give "props" to those who stuggled (through extreame oppression) and contributed to society. White-Americans (as a whole race) have not gone through that...but I do think it would be an improvement to have better teaching materials as well as a month to celebate the "others" who lived through similar situations.
  • I think it is unfair that every race has their own history month but the whites why should we be the only ones that don't have month to celebrate our history.
  • I see no logic or useful reason for any of them
  • I going to say this mainly because I am of both races Afro American and Caucasian. Hate me if you want to but love me if you can...... . I often wondered what the hell would have come about if here in the states in this day and age we had a "Million Man March" for Caucasian's. Or if we had awards strickly for Caucasian's. Yes I am aware that at one point in time Caucasian's were afforded all this back in history, yet individual ethnic groups were handed hardships pretty much like anyother group of unwelcomed outsiders that came to the USA. . Things is in the USA all Americans must realize that if it is fair and just for one set of people it must be fair and equal for ALL people. I equally love both of my hertiages the Black African side and the Caucasian side......... . If we have anything at all it should be "NATIVE AMERICAN MONTH" after all they are the ones that were screwed out of everything.
  • Problem? What problem?
