  • Child neglect. parents would be arrested. depending on the psychological and physical status of the child, the state may intervene and take custody. Its a parents responsibility to house and educate their children. whether its homebound or public or private school.
  • The parent's would be charged with child neglect and potentially a lot of other things depending on the situation. In the USA, education is provided for free (K-12)until age 21 if necessary. So, the child could essentially go back to school. But, there are a whole bunch of issues that would have to be taken into account.
  • i dont know if it varies by state but i know here in NY you can legally be in high school until dec 31st of the year you turn 21. I would say take GED classes, take it, and go straight into community college, and get involved with a school support counselor to get on (and stay on) the right track.
  • I don't know what would happen to the parents, but I don't think the young adult would be forced to go back to primary school. Probably he/she would attend a college or an adult education centre.
