  • they shot me with paintball guns until i peed myslef from crying... just kidding, they told me to work harder
  • I don't know, as it really never happened.
  • It did not happen. I could not have stood the disapproval and abject looks of resigned disappointment
  • I got grounded, car keys taken, when I was older. When younger, I was scolded, and privileges taken away, not that it did any good.
  • What are bad grades? I ask my parents.
  • Grounded, no more TV or video games, no more internet, No staying up late, no going out with friends... you know, the usual. :)
  • It usually didn't happen, I was a good student. However, on the occasions it did happen... they asked if I felt that it was the grade I had earned/deserved. It always was. That's about all they had to say about it. I always felt I let them down, but they never said anything of the sort. They just wanted to make sure that the grades were appropriate (since it was rare that I got anything less than an A). Since I openly admitted to deserving the lower grade, that was the end of the conversation about it.
  • I didnt get many bad grades but when I did I didnt get punished my mother would simply tell to do better next time.
  • She was and acted disappointed if she knew i didn't do my best enough, that was punishment enough. if i had done my best and still didnt get good grades, she used to help me get better grades in the future, and told me that none is perfect, and that she was proud of me for trying.
  • Nothing. They just tell me to do better next time.
  • canings and no food for two days
  • Well, first comes the screaming and "You're kicked outta the house!" and the computer gets taken away. Then they calm down, and don't talk for awhile, then forget about it until the next time bad grades roll through the door.
  • Didn't really get bad grades, but if i did ,my parents told me to try harder and study for tests. When you're a kid, my mom says all that matters is your studies and friends.
  • Well, my daughter is 12 and is currently doing VERY poorly in school. Right now, if she "forgets" her homework at school, she writes sentences or reads quietly in her room to make up for the time and must bring the homework home along with new work the next night. Also, she is missing out on the class ski trip and lost her DS (game system).
  • The few times I have got bad grades was in PE, so my mum just took me out for a curry and told me that it didn't matter
  • I didn't have bad grades. If I had, the reaction would have been to make sure I was studying enough and, of course, the killer looks of disappointment.
  • grounded
  • I never got bad grades except for one time I got below a B in a class, and my dd is big on education, and he sat me down and gave me the big lecture about how I needed to apply myself more. If I were constantly doing a C average or below, I probably would have been yelled at big time.
  • I didn't get bad grades but if I brought home a B my stepfather would rant about how stupid I was and would never amount to anything. It was just an excuse to yell at me because he only had a 6th grade education and didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground about ANYTHING. That is not why I made good grades tho...I found school to be pretty easy.
  • I know what they WOULD have done to me had they found out....I worked myself silly to get them up before the major exams. Phew!
  • Lecture/Tell me I'd have to do better.
  • If it happened, I was grounded. The disappointment on my Dad's face just wasn't worth it.
  • More chores ... less words
  • I always made all A's on my report cards. When I did get a bad grade it was just on a random assignment, and my parents made fun of me because I was more disappointed by it than they were.
  • It seems unfair to punish a child for getting bad grades at school. Not every child is naturally inclined towards success at school. There are so many different career's they can experience that don't require Harvard degree's.
  • every fail in college = 1000USD charge to parents
  • Got me a tutor. They knew I had trouble understanding the subject (algebra). For English, I went to summer school but they didnt make me do that.
  • I know my parents would have been furious if I didn't do well in high school. The standard that public school systems set is far too low in my opinion. I know for a fact that if I ever have kids they'll be getting good grades or else! Now that I'm studying engineering in college, they say as long as I don't start failing they'll be happy. If I was studying something else however, it would be a 4.0 or I would get yelled at and called lazy every time I saw them.
  • Seriously I feel sorry for some of you, how the hell is punishing someone gonna make them any better at a subject? They should be helping you get better grades instead, I am a good student I barely get bad grades...I have failed a couple of maths tests (I suck at maths) my parents didn't get mad, they were calm about it, they knew i tried my best and thats all they ask for.
