  • The cause of this is most likely because the RCA cables are near the main power wire, for some reason the power wire picks up noise. try moving some of the cables around and see how that works. if nothing else works you can check out this site, they seem to have good tech support: http://www.atomicaudio.net . icant3dmodel
  • I'm assuming that your dvd player is plugged into your cigarette lighter port in your car. This is the number one cause when adding various media using a fm modulator and or just using a direct line cable. I have opted to use a 12volt DC to 110volt AC converter and plug my laptop or dvd player in using a normal 110 plug. This eliminates the engine noise you describe. I am going to try grounding my CLA (cigarette lighter adapter) to the frame and see if that will eliminate the engine noise. I have experienced this in multiple cars as I installed car audio and alarms for a good 6 years but all was prior to this booming market in portable media and ipods and the mass use of the CLA.
