  • The way the game is advancing nowadays means that managers and clubs as a whole tend to lean towards the taller players with more of a commanding presence. A quick glance at the Premiership, just as an example, proves this: most of the players are 6ft or taller, with the increased strength and athleticism not found in the more diminuitive players. So theoretically his size could work against him. But there are always players who will break the mould - Shaun Wright Philips, Gianfranco Zola, Claude Makelele, come to mind just as examples. Furthermore, being blessed with such a rich footballing heritage and the fact that he will have football instilled into him from a young age, I feel, will definitely work strongly in his favour. If we look at players whose sons have come into the game famously, players such as Frank Lampard, Shaun Wright Philips, Kasper Schemichel, Paulo Maldini, etc. we can see evidence of the benefits of having a bloodline running through football. Given that this isn't always the case, I still believe it would definitely give him a foot up the ladder. In conclusion, his success, despite his family, depends a lot on the way the game develops over the coming years, but I would be tempted to tout him for eminence anyway, just because it would be pretty damn amazing.
