I did breastfeed, 13 years ago, because I thought that would be best for my baby.

Absolutely yes breastfed until my son was 13 months old. It is just so proven to be so much better than fomula and is one of the best gifts you can give to your baby, best possible start in life. I'm sure you've read all the science, but from personal experience, my son didn't get so much as a cold until I'd stopped feeding when all his baby friends got loads of things, I never kept him away from them. Even now at 3 his immunity is still really good. He was easily weaned because his taste was already used to variety, your milk taste does vary depending on what you've been eating. I never had to sterilize bottles and was able to get out of the house without much planning. It was fabulous for bonding with him. It gave me great self esteem to know I was giving him something so wonderful and natural and to know that I was uniquely the only one who could do this for my baby. I loved it. I followed the EASY routine from 'The Baby Whisperer' by Tracy Hogg. I would highly recommend this book. Once my son became 5 weeks old I stopped demand feeding and got him into a routine of feeds in the same way you would with bottle feeding, this gives your life a bit more freedom and means the baby is hungry and ready for a feed, the danger when breastfeeding is that they can use you as a dummy and then it becomes tiring. This also means they sleep better at night as they tend to take more milk at feeds because they are hungrier. Humans are naturally habitual creatures and babys are especially so it makes sense to put the feeding into a routine. Well I think so anyway.

Hope that answers your question!

When I was pregnant with my first child I was adamant all the way through that I wouldn't breastfeed, I just didn't like the thought of it.

However, when she was born I suddenly felt I had to do my best for her, so I decided to breastfeed. I only managed eight weeks as she wasn't gaining enough weight.

However, when I had my son I was more determined so he never, ever had a bottle. I fed him until he was almost a year, though not all the time as some mums do, it was eventually only the bedtime feed and snuggle.

When my girlfriend and I have children, we will breastfeed. It's natural and there isn't anything wrong with it. Formula is just too dangerous.

Yes I have been breast fed. I believe it's very important because you get immunities from it.
I don't ever plan to breast feed my future baby because I'm a guy. :P

I tried with my son and managed 2 weeks...He had jaundice and he wouldn't latch so it being a new baby and me being scared I gave in and gave him formula...Then I tried pumping...and well it's a long story, but I do plan to try again with the next one...It bums me out that it didn't work out with him so I will try harder with the next one.
