In a restaurant, do male servers receive the same tips as female servers or do women receive more because people associate working women with children to support?

I honestly believe that in decent restaurants, it breaks even based on the personality and attention your servers pays to you. In cheaper places like diners, women probably make more because a lot of people take a rather negative view that 'oh, that's the only job she can get?'. Also, you tend not to find many male servers in diners and cheaper restaurants. If you have a friend who works in hospitality, ask them, they should really know. We can't, it's not appropriate to ask.

I think it's all fair game.If you interact good with your customers,you will get descent tips.It's all about giving good service and making the customer feel welcomed.
