You can check your network traffic a variety of ways. If you have a website that you would like to track, try using your webhost's logs that show IP address, resource accessed, and time accessed. If you are trying to check the network traffic on your LAN and you have a router, you should log into the router, and look for the setting that controls this. Since each router is different, it may be located at a different location. Usually, your router will have an IP address such as 192.168.1.1. You should receive a prompt to login, usually administrator and password admin, or whatever your router's default is (unless you changed it). There should be an advanced screen that has Access logs --- this will show the IP address of every computer that has tried to access your computer's resources. If you are looking for a specific computer, there is also usually a screen that has outgoing traffic logs. It will show an IP address such as 192.168.1.100 and the history of what was browsed. This is helpful if you have kids or several computers and you want to know what was accessed (even if someone tries to delete their web cache or web history.) Hope this helps. Brian

I could interpret this question three ways: 1. How can I monitor/analyse network traffic to know what it is? -I'd suggest using a packet sniffer such as Ethereal 2. How can I monitor or control bandwidth usage for individual users on my network? -Certain routers have load balancing features and IP accounting features which can do this for you. 3. How can I verify my network is working? -Popular tools to do this include but are not limited to: (type the command at a command prompt followed by a /? for details on usage parameters) PING TRACERT ARP NSLOOKUP NETSH NET NMAP (you'll probably need to download this one first)
