  • ( to my question) period or do you just stop and you try to become pregnet after you have your period? i need to know when to do it to become pregnet?
  • The first subject is, the irregular periods, that can happen, if your pills are not strong enough to tell your body that you are pregnant, hense bleeding inbetween periods. When it is to high of an amount, it can cause you to miss periods. This answer is only if that is what is causing your irregular periods, I do not know about the PCOS? If you want to get pregnant, then I would stop the pills, and let nature take its course, if it is going to. Do this with your doctors assistance. Good luck getting your new family!!
  • If you are wanting to start a family you have to stop taking the pill. Depending on how long you have been on the pill will depend on how long it will take for you to concieve. Some people get pregnant within a couple of months others can take upwards of 6 months. Best way is to just let nature take its course and dont stress about it.
  • It doesn't matter when your period is. you can stop the pill tomorrow, it wont matter! You don't need a regular cycle to become pregnant, but apparantly for the body to become "re-adjusted" it can take 3 months after you stop your pill, before you can concieve. as you have PCOS, it might take you a bit longer. here is a great website for you, and it has alot of other people in your situation. its www.fertilityfriend.com GOOD LUCK!
  • Birth Control Pills are not a good form of correcting PCOS. It's like putting a bandaid on it. Please seek another doctor that won't put you on BC. Get off BC, and start taking an herb called Vitex to become pregnant.
  • I don't think it matters. What I am doing now, and I also have PCOS, is stopping my pills after the last active pill. The period will start, or did, and will continue as long as necessary. About 2 weeks after the last placebo pill, which is 7 days after the last active pill, I should ovulate. But, being on birth control can delay that in some people. I am assuming I'll be one of those people since I have PCOS already. Good luck to the both of us.
  • Check out the soulcysters website - has the most information on this topic that I've ever seen. In a lot of cases, light (especially if you aren't doing it now) and consistent exercise helps regulate your cycle. I found that keeping your body on a schedule (eating at regular intervals, going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, and exercising at the same time every day) eventually helps!
  • You're more fertile right after quitting the pill. However, having PCOS may make it a bit harder for you to conceive, period. Yes, you will need to stop taking your birth control pill if you want to increase your chances of becoming pregnant. You can stop at any time, you don't need to wait and finish out the pack.
