No. I know for a fact that our city uses magnets during their paper recycling process to remove such metal items.

yes, because we have to shred everything here and our boss makes us "save" our paper clips :)

I have to inquire as to where (work/home)this task is being performed? If at work and I need the paper clips. Yes, I would remove them. On the other hand if this was a task I was undertaking at home. I would remove them as well. Only because I would probably have purchased said paper clips. Unless of course I lifted them from my employer. Which obviously might change my perspective on the issue.
