it is coffee with brandy in it.

erm...its coffee made the traditional french way which is with a funny little perculator thing that goes on the cooker top and gets heated by the gas. Its short, dark lovely. Turkish coffee is short, very dark and bitter and served with coffee sedement at the bottom, american coffee is filter stuff, in europe its called an americano.

Galenanda is correct, although, French coffee is not limited to having Brandy. French Coffee is made with an Liqueur.
