  • What kinds of foods are you eating? and how often. How active are you? If you are very active you need to almost triple your food intake increase your snacks. Have you tried ensure or boost? These drinks help but have a acquired taste. Why not make a appointment with your doctor? and express your concerns and be passionate about it.
  • Drink some protein shakes you'll gain weight in no time
  • I don't know what type of weight you want to put on, but I assume it's lean tissue you want to increase, rather than just fat. If you do not want to be muscley, you can still follow certain points, e.g. about the diet, and in fact can still do weights, but not as heavy. Perform muscle building exercises with weights, starting off slowly if you are not used to them, and build up the weight. You should focus on compound exercises initially, those that work lots of muscles together, such as squats, bench press and the like. To increase mass, try high weight low reps, meaning that you should lift a weight that is towards the most you can lift, and only do a few lifts in one go. e.g. if the most you can bench press in one go is 60kg, try lifting 50kg x 4. Then rest for a short while, ~30secs, perhaps do another exercise, and then go back. You may find it easier to lift the second time after a short break away. Do not overexercise - give yourself plenty of days of rest as well, as your muscles will probably ache afterwards, a sign of tissue repair and growth, what you wanted. It is VITAL to ensure you eat lots of protein and carbohydrate to provide a supply of material and energy for growth, otherwise you won't see much improvement and could do more harm than good. Fish, meats and dairy products are all good sources of protein. To put on weight, you must have a greater calorific intake than usage/waste - it's as simple as that.
  • Wait till you're middle aged watch yourself balloon Serious answer - get your thyroid function checked (simple blood test)weight loss is a symptom of hyperthyroidism
  • You have the same problem I do, and people have hated me for it for years. No matter what I do I can't seem to put on weight. Birth control has always helped me put on a few extra pounds and look a lot less skeletal. I also try to eat as few non-fat things as I can...not going overboard and switching to entirely junk food, but if I drink milk, it's whole milk, etc. Try eating three good-sized meals daily with a snack at mid-morning and in the afternoon. Eat ice cream. Buy a can of protein mix and try to drink at least one protein drink a day. There's no right way to do it, just try not to pack on the saturated fats...you may gain weight faster that way but you'll also feel worse.
  • icrease the number of snacks. eat heaps of fatty food like chips.and avoid low fat stuff
  • you know some fat guy is crying because of this question... somewhere. lol j/p... i hope... :D

  • well I don't know if this would work for you...put just start eating alot of pasta and starting drinking alot of beer....cut out the extra moving....no more walking when you can drive...and try frying alot of your meals...and if that does put some weight on you then I'm sorry P.S: I got the same problem and those things worked...well they did when I didn't want to gain weight...so they should if you want to...be really you should just have a sit down with your doctor and see what they say about what you should eat vs. what may cause you to lose weight

  • eat junk? cmon do you REALLY need to gain weight?...
  • I have always been on the thin side, but when I went through a divorce, I quickly lost 20 pounds. I eventually gained it back by going to a nutrition center and purchasing a weight gain powder. I added high fat ice cream and drank it twice a day. In addition I ate a lot of mixed nuts. As much as we are made to be aware of being sensitive to over weight people it amazes me how many people don't think anything about making insensitive, hurtful comments to people who are under weight. Good luck to you!
