  • dipped in a little bit of catsup! : O )
  • Just salt and lots of it please! Sometimes I go all continental and dip them in mayonnaise!
  • Here in Montreal Canada they make something called potine ! It is fries covered with cheese and covered with gravy. Is is a staple food eat by almost everyone. Personally I dip!
  • Either ketchup or malt vinegar.
  • "Dunk!?" Bloody uncivilized if you ask me, mate. A bit of gravy will be fine.:)
  • I prefer cheese on mine, either on or for dunking, doesn't matter to me.
  • Just a little ketchup please.
  • I like to dunk, and not just fries/chips:)
  • Plain or sometimes a little malt vinegar.
  • mmm RANCH
  • With plenty of ketchup and vinegar all over; I don't like gravy on chips, though I have sometimes had cheese when drunk.
  • in a piece of newspaper with onions, viniger and salt.
  • Us Southerner's prefer our sauce in sachets (a more upmarket option than a 'pot'. We have 'fries' in little cardboard packets because down South we are fit, thin and fashionable. Northerners however, have not evolved as yet. Besides, it's grim up North so the more crap you eat and the more curry sauce you consume, the fatter you get thus shortening your life span considerably and minimizing your personal misery of existence. Personally, I like mine from the oven (the oven chip) because it means less washing up and I don't have to peel the potatoes myself or get the car out, drive to the local 'chip shop', stand there, wait and wait and wait, get them home, unwrap the damn things only to find they are 3 days old and yukky. Husband on the other hand, could eat chips for England - he loves all chips, all kinds, all shapes. And no, he's not Northern, just really irritating.
  • I love them with Japanese pickled ginger. Beautiful.
  • I like chips with mayonnaise, don’t really mind if it’s in a pot or next to the chips on the plate, but never smothered on top.
  • Cooked.
  • urm im from the north and hate the fake curry you can buy in the chip shops yuk it tastes nothing like home made curry.
  • Stacked high on a Roulette Table! With a glass of Champagne!
  • Ha. I am a southener that lives up north. I don't get the whole chip stew thing and that curry sauce they do in chip shops is just blap. I like salt, vinegar, mushy peas on the side and some ketchup handy for dipping, on the plate is fine doesn't have to be all posh in a pot. Chips and egg, or chips and baked beans. Great. I like to dip my chips, not fish them out. There was a song out when I was younger "peas, chips and gravy, where's the f-ing beer?" Didn't understand. It reminds me of that sketch with Peter Kaye visiting London. "Aint you got 'out moist? P.S. do you get savaloy in Pompey? We always end up going for a pizza when we visit. No one seems to know what Savaloy is "up North" I didn't know if it was just a London thing.
