  • They have some rough areas like anywhere else but a lot of it truly is paradise. Some of the most beautiful beaches and resorts in the world. AB-Rich is no fool for living there;)

  • It depends what your idea of paradise is. To be fair, there is some amount of racism in Hawaii, which I think is mostly directed against white US mainland visitors who come across too strong (but if you aren't an ass, then no worries).. There are some rougher neighborhoods too, and break ins to tourist-looking cars are not uncommon. Hawaii also has a growing population of homeless (who may work full time, have whole, together families, and be responsible folks, but are still homeless), who you might see in cars and tents especially along some beaches and parks on Oahu. A *lot* of the homeless are people who come to Hawaii without a good plan, and hope they can "just find a job when they get here." No. Hawaii also has a pretty high cost of living, crazy gas prices, and limited resources due to its being geographically isolated.
