• The grounding presence of Gena Rowlands in this movie helped this guy enjoy the movie -- I do not like romance movies but her gritty realism brought much needed weight to the story.

• I think it is. Especially the part where Hawkeye just stands and stares at Cora. She aska him what he is looking at and he says," I'm looking at you miss.' I find that to be one of the most honestly romantic scenes that I have seen in movies.

• I hope the males and females in your life all like it. :) It has Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour and Christopher Plummer. Movie critics -- and an awful lot of people -- trash the movie. I can understand why. But just as many people adore the movie. I liked it for what it was. And with my not liking romance movies- - or romantic comedies -- very much, I still liked the movie.
