How do you feel about conversion? Why? (there are no wrong answers, it's a subjective question)

English to metric in the U.S.? I think it's a great idea and about time we went for it. The most important part being that our products would be more marketable and desirable in the rest of the world, which would make us wealthier and build jobs here in the U.S.

I feel that religious beliefs are very deep and very personal. Conversion out of true desire is great if that's what the converter actually wants. Conversion out of a desire to put someone else's spiritual needs first is not great, in my opinion.

I think that conversion as a solely personal choice is very hard and also very rewarding. I was born and raised Jewish and am now, for the last 15 years, a Christian. I feel totally comfortable and confident in my decision. It has been very difficult because it has been a huge disappointment and source of misunderstanding for my parents, etc. In fact, there are many people on my Dad's side of the family who still don't know. It's sad that they feel it is something they need to hide and be ashamed of.
