Sleep counts and sometimes you just need that long rest ~ additionally, be sure to take a nice warm (not hot!) shower (not bath) because a shower has a soothing effect plus++ if your lungs are congested the warm water helps a great deal. Gargle with warm, salt water several times a day if you have a sore throat (kills germs/bacteria and helps heal)! Get some fresh air, if possible. Then have some hot chicken soup or a hot tea ~ THEN!! back to bed for more sleep!

A combination I go with to get well is; Get Extra rest Make sure you get up and Eat, avoid phlemy foods like milk and cheese. Eat more Greens and veggies to give your body Vitamines to fight the ailment. Have a friend come over to cook for you, rub your feet, back and then be sure to return the favor!

I agree. I helps your body restore itself to health. It works well for my hubby I know that. He can be sick and sleep it off virtually!
