  • The Education Of Little Tree by Forrest Carter. Lovely book. It actually made me cry. I haven't read a book in a long time that made me cry, but I had to read that for my freshman comp class and write an essay on it to reflect on things I had learned from it, very good.
  • Harry Potter books by JK Rowling are great for any ages. 8+ As you get older - Tolkien - Lord of the Rings (about 13+) Over 15 - Thomas Covenant the Unbeleiver - by Stephen Donaldson (my favourite books). I also loved books by HG Wells, John Wyndham...
  • For elementary and middle school, The Giver, Tuck Everlasting, Lord of the Flies. For high school, Catch 22, 1984, The Scarlet Letter, Catcher in the Rye. For college... I can't think of anything else right now.
  • The E.B. White novels: Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan, and Stuart Little. Excellent reads for any age.
  • Atlas Shrugged........Ayn Rand
  • Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn
  • Oh the list is huge. 1984 Animal Farm Brave New World Count of Monte Cristo Catch 22 Dante's Inferno Fahrenheit 451 The Hobbit (I felt the LoTR lacked the same quality) Plato's Republic (if they have the patience, lol) The Destroyers Robinson Crusoe Plato's Gorgias How to Kill a Mockingbird Anything that inspires individual thought in my opinion. Of course great literary works are not hard to find these days, and always make a good addition.
