you might try acupuncture. it can be very effective for solving pain issues - it definitely worked for my back pain.

I have known this with one or two weight lifter..some continue..some have to eventually give up the weights..your physiotherapist should of adviced you on this..have you seen a specialist? The fact is if an exercise gives you pain..no matter what it is..you need to stop and find an alternative..otherwise permanant damage will occur..
