Probably, but hardly much. In some chart or test or something it said that the people with the sign sagittarius get along the least with my sign. My best friend is sagittarius . So no i dont think so. But in a way i do think they can have an affect on someones personality.

Astrology is an ancient science that takes a lifetime to learn. Sun sign (newspaper) astrology is for entertainment only, but the fullness of real astrology can be an important tool.

I was like you until I found out the actual facts several years back. I learned that there are really 13 constellations of the zodiac, not 12. Horoscopes ignore the 13th. Also, over the years, the positions of these constellations have shifted. Thus, the actual dates have changed. That means that, according to horoscopes, you may think you are a Capricorn (or whatever), but you might really have been born under the sign of Aquarius. (I have all the exact info at my school where I teach, but we are out for Spring Break. I will post it later.) So, I figure that if these so-called readers of the stars were any good, then they would know these things. Yet, they still use out-dated, innaccurate info to make their predictions. After I learned all this, I very seldom waste my time looking at them--even in fun.

It is good for a fun laugh, but more than that I would not waste my time. The reason sometimes they hit the mark is that the "predictions" are so general and widespread people are sure to identify with part of it and apply it to themselves in a way that suits them.

I totally believe in compatibility and zodia decriptions - I am an aries and every description I have read is right on point! I have also been in a few relationships that went exactly as predicted by zodiac compatibilty - example aries and leos are no-nos - fire and fire don't mix well. Aries and Pisces are supposed to be okay since water calms fire - but anywho - I agree that it is a lot of fun - but it is even more fun to read about other peoples signs and see just how true they are!

I think its really fun to read up on it, especially if you are the way your sign reads - which I am - I am aries and all the personality traits of aries, I have them. I don't really believe in all that stuff but I do have fun with it. A friend of mine is also aries, we were born the same day, so if all that stuff were true, we should have the same characteristics but we are so different from each other. She doesn't have any of those 'aries' traits :)

Horoscopes are not even fun, and I certainly don't read them. If Pamela Anderson (US) or Kirsty Allsop (UK) offered to be my partner I don't think I'd ask what her birth sign was - even if I cared. And if a person fancies a billionaire twice over, will she/he really sit down and pore over his/her birth chart? Horoscopes are for people who like to feel they have some control over their lives - some advantage, some edge to keep them on top. Nostradamus predicted the world would end in 2000 - hasn't inconvenienced me any, so far!!!!

I think, their predictions are so general, so that, to appears true for all. That is the main secret behind this.

If you're talking general Sun-sign interpretation and compatibility then, yes, you may find some broad similarities. You may even find some uncanny correlations, but nothing to really base true long-term relationship compatibility on. That being said, if you have 2 charts done for 2 people, based on an accurate date, time and place of birth, then a relationship interpretation by a competent astrologer will be quite accurate. In fact, I'd trust that chart comparison more than I'd trust the public face of the relationship put forward by the individuals involved. Given that there's any basis to astrology at all, no chart can be accurate without accurate data on date, place and time of the event. Anything else will be very general and applicable to wide swayhs of the population.

I think they are. I feel they look for common things and what this other person would like and not like. Being a pisces I've had more than 3 cancerian friends and the love was scorpio. Strange but true

I do not believe zodiac signs has anything to do with you being compatable to one other, What i do believe is that when two zodiac signs come together, it's because they like, or love one another ,and the both of you do what it takes to make it work. A relationship is what you make it. If you make it good , then it will be good, and if you make it bad then it will be bad. But the both of you have to want to do this together it doesn't matter what sign you are.

I think there's a lot more to human compatability than just the zodiac. I think if anything the zodiac might just hive an insight into what might be like. I've seen some things before saying what a particular sign would say about a person and sometimes its pretty accurate.

Only indirectly and then only if both people are born & brought up (for the first 2 years at least) in more or less the same geographic (climatic) area. This is nothing to do with astrology but a reflection of the influences we absorb during our first couple of years while our brains develop and get set for the rest of our lives.

When a human being born on this earth, didn't know anything and nothing, Some educated fools created for making money and this kind of shits on the earth and brought to fight and argue each other human beings. Whoever created this, even they didn't know what is their sign is? It's just people belief and learned from their generation to generation. Just people are following till now and believe in it. Married before, I went to the astrology to ask about mine and my husband's compatibility, he is a priest in a temple( I don't know now he still alive or dead from somebody because of cheating innocent people for money) and told me that you both are very good compatibility, after we got married on 1989(till we together with 2 teenage kids) then only we found out that, it's just a argue, verbally, mentally, physically harming every days life and cheating, lying, dishonest, disrespect and living with double life, it's like a hell. Our marriage happened in a hell not in a heaven. That's I don't believe this kind of shits anymore, they just steal and lie for money from innocent people.
